Wedding in Varkiza, Island
January 15, 2017
Lefteris and Virginia’s wedding was a very special moment not only for the couple but also for the guests who had traveled from all over the world to be present.
I often think how lucky I am to be part of these unique and special occasions and also to have the chance to capture the moments for them to have memories for the rest of their lives!
At the central church of Glyfada, everything had to be perfect and the well-organized timetable was very important.
It was a very romantic wedding–exactly as the couple wanted it to be.
After the ceremony, the couple chose to celebrate the wedding with their guests at Island. Iokasti Skandami, the wedding planner from Mazi Event, decorated this magical place and organized every detail of the reception.
Seashells and starfish beautifully complimented the light peach, mint green, gray and clean white color palette for a neat, intimate setting. Light peach flower bouquets of David Austin roses and various white flowers decorated the dinner tables, tagged with the names of the cities to which the newlyweds have traveled. Each table included the special sea-inspired gifts they had picked or their guests.
The evening included a cocktail reception with a formidable view of the sun plunging into the sea. An elegant welcome table received guests with a variety of traditional Greek flavors, as well as homemade fudge and other sweets prepared by the groom’s mother, all perfectly tied together by the romantic calligraphy backdrop with love quotes derived from the couple’s favorite novel, Corelli’s Mandolin by Louis de Bernières.
All guests definitely appreciated the dinner experience, savoring delicious dishes on the spot, provided by Aria Catering.
The follow-up party continued long into the night, with all guests having fun, dancing, and radiating plenty of good vibes! The celebration, full of love, cheer and bliss, comprised the couple’s unparalleled first memory of Greece, to cherish as they start their new life together.
We had a wonderful time working with them! Congratulations Lefteris and Virginia!
