About Lambros Papanikolatos

I started photography out of curiosity. I was interested in finding out how a medium that attempts to depict reality actually functions. How it can transmit this reality of ours that carries two worlds: the natural, real world and the spiritual one; the real landscape and the imagined one.
Through my photographic voyage I am able to find the link between life events, changing facts and my own personal and artistic life. Every time I travel I open up to new countries, new cities, new people. I open up to new languages. I wait. I wait patiently for time to do its thing, for the moment to appear. And when it appears I am ready to grasp it, to reveal it through my lens, and turn it into an image that all can understand. It is that simple, and it is why I simply adore photographing and travelling.
Photographs make us daydream. They remind us of those moments that have the power to create a world of their own. A world that allows imagination to surface.
Photographs usually come with a story attached to them. Sometimes they become a story in themselves. When it comes to love stories, life and photography have something in common: they both start with that famous, little word “once”: Once upon a time… Once only… Once as in unique. I try to capture all notions of that word in my photography.
I love capturing and creating beautiful moments. As I document your wedding, I will be catching the details of your special day as it unfolds, and make sure to immortalise those intimate moments. Without intruding, but rather by bringing a calm and positive dimension that will make you feel at ease.

Why Sempreviva
Sempreviva is a yellow flower endemic to the island of Cythera, Greece, which thrives in its rocky mountains. The islanders call it so because, even when cut, it never seems to wither, preserving its colour and aroma. Sempreviva is an Italian compound word that means “ever alive”.
