Wedding in Mani, Gerolimenas
January 4, 2017
Sophia and Thanassis are very good friends of mine. When I have to photoshoot people that I have a personal relationship with, my emotions are mixed. I know what they think, what they feel and mostly what they expect from me. I am a member of the guests but mostly I have the responsibility to capture the moment of my dear people.
The hotel Kyrimai has been built so close to the sea, that you can hear the waves that hit the shore, right next to the hotel grounds. The view of the crystal blue sea is breathtaking, and swimming in the Maniot sea is a unique experience.
Gerolymenas is a small coastal village, at the southern end of Mani.
Τhe name, which means “Old port”, is thought to derive from the ancient “Ιερός Λιμήν” meaning “Sacred Harbor”. One of the remotest settlements in the Peloponnese.
The couple has chosen the yard of a historical church for the ceremony were all the guests could enjoy the special moment. Friends and family enjoyed the magnificent sunset and throw the rice to the couple with tones as the Greek tradition requires!
Happiness, humor, laughs, warmness, music, and dance until morning were the main ingredients of the wedding party.
May you always remember the love shared on this special day. Wishing you my friends a lifetime of love!
